ABOUT THE PROGRAM
What is the Direct Invoice Program?
The CDHCI Program is a Government of Alberta initiative administered through Alberta Health Services. It gives Albertans the freedom to choose their home care provider — while AHS covers the cost directly.
What's Covered
- Personal Care — Bathing, grooming, dressing, hygiene
- Home Support — Meals, housekeeping, laundry
- Nursing Care — Wound care, medication management
- Respite Care — Caregiver relief services
Additional services beyond AHS-funded hours (housekeeping, foot care, transportation) can be arranged privately at competitive rates.

Who qualifies for the program?
Alberta Resident
Current Alberta resident with a valid AHCIP
card.

Must have been assessed by AHS and approved for funded care hours.
Living at Home
Must be living in your own private residence, not a care facility.
Eligible Services
Personal care, home support and nursing care as assessed by AHS.
Client Directed
You or your representative formally choose Omera Care as your provider.

STEP BY STEP
How the program works
Qualifying for the Direct Home Care Program is quite easy! This process can be started by yourself, but we recommend contacting us first to answer any questions you may havewhile navigating the program.
Contact AHS for an Assessment
Call AHS to request a home care assessment. A case manager will evaluate your care needs and determine your funded hours.
Request the CDHCI Program
Tell your AHS case manager you want to participate in CDHCI and choose Omera Care as your provider. They will provide the necessary forms and authorization.

Care Begins- We Invoice AHS directly
Your care starts on schedule. Omera Care submits all invoices directly to AHS. You pay nothing for your funded hours.
